Our Team.
We love to work together to solve science problems, and have fun while doing it! Here is some info on who we are, our backgrounds, and our interests.

Fraser MacRae
Combined MPT/PhD candidate
Fraser is a student in the combined master of physical therapy and PhD program at Western. He received his Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Victoria. His primary research interest is in the neuroplasticity of stroke rehabilitation, explicitly focusing on novel interventions for post-stroke spasticity. Fraser enjoys hiking, surfing, camping, and climbing in his spare time.

Tim Green
Combined MPT/PhD student
Tim is a student in the combined Master of Physical Therapy and PhD at Western University. Prior to Western, Tim received his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (Hons) and Master of Science in Kinesiology from the University of New Brunswick. Tim’s research focuses primarily on alterations to neural pathways after stroke, where he uses multimodal analyses to analyze brain and muscle activation during voluntary movements. Outside of academics, Tim is a Co-Chair for the Lawson Association of Fellows and Students and a Student Athletic Therapist for Hockey New Brunswick.

Nastassia Kaddour
MSc student
Nastassia Kaddour is a Registered Physiotherapist and a Master of Science student in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences in the field of Physiotherapy. Her research focuses on the relationship between pre-stroke physical activity levels and post-stroke knee symptoms, reflecting her strong interest in neurological rehabilitation and functional recovery. Beyond her professional and academic work, Nastassia is a dedicated mother of two who enjoys cooking, staying active at the gym, and exploring new places.

Abdulhai Aljaabary
MSc student
Abdulhai is a Master of Science student in Neuroscience at Western University. His research focuses on how the brain’s functional organization influences motor performance and symptom severity after stroke. He received his Honours Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from Brock University. Outside the lab, Abdulhai enjoys table tennis, video games, and watching soccer.

Nagina Naz
Project Coordinator
Nagina Naz is a seasoned healthcare professional with over 10 years of experience, holding an MBBS and an MD in Anesthesiology from India. While her clinical background is in anesthesia, she has transitioned into key leadership and research roles, currently serving as a Project Coordinator at Western University’s School of Physical Therapy and a Research Coordinator at London Health Sciences Centre. Beyond her professional expertise, Nagina is a creative spirit who finds joy in cooking, engaging in art and craft projects, and connecting with new people through meaningful conversation.

Justin Watts
Lab Technician
Justin is currently a lab technician and recently completed his Master of Science student in the Neuroscience program at Western University. His research focuses on investigating the effects of various lower extremity somatosensory stimulation and posture variation on cortical activation using fNIRS in healthy participants to examine naturalistic mobility. He completed his Bachelor of Arts at Western with an Honours Specialization in Kinesiology. Outside of the lab, Justin enjoys traveling, exercising, and spending time with friends and family.

Lexie Delisle
MSc student
Lexie is a Master of Science student in the Neuroscience program at Western University and has been involved with the lab since 2023. She received her Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Western in 2025, during which she completed two undergraduate summer research internships and her honours thesis. Her research focuses on neuroplasticity in stroke rehabilitation, using techniques such as TMS, fNIRS, and MRI to quantify changes in the brain throughout various treatments for spasticity. Outside of academia, Lexie is the captain of the Western women’s lacrosse team, enjoys playing piano, and is an active member of motionball, a non-profit organization supporting Special Olympics Canada

Sean Lai
Research Assistant
Sean is a research assistant supporting the lab with data collection and analysis. He is also a former Master of Science student in the neuroscience program at Western. He received his Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Western and is interested in studying how differing somatosensory inputs alter the planning of performance. Outside the lab, Sean enjoys taking photos, playing sports, and spending time with friends and family.

Nathan Durand, PT
Nathan is a Physiotherapist working in inpatient Complex Care at Parkwood Institute. He received his Bachelor of Health Science and Master of Physical Therapy from Western University. He has been working in musculoskeletal and neurological rehabilitation since beginning his career in 2019. Nathan enjoys walking with and learning from his patients every day, and has a passion for furthering his knowledge both clinically and academically. He has a passion for neuroscience and is seeking to contribute to research that connects science with rehabilitation. Nathan is excited to support the Peters Lab with new research on the use of fNIRS and FES cycling in the stroke population. Beyond work, you can often find Nathan spending time with his family, doing puzzles, and reading science fiction.
